Information you give us. Your name, address, email address, telephone number and any other details you provide through our enquiry, referral, feedback or job application forms.Health and care information. Where you or a person you are enquiring about may receive care from us, we collect information about health conditions, support needs, care plans, medication and related matters. This is "special category" information and is treated with additional protection — see section 4.Recruitment information. If you apply for a role, we collect your employment history, references, right-to-work documentation and the outcome of any Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.Information collected automatically. Your IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited. See section 7.
Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each purpose. We rely on the following:Contract — to provide care and support services that have been agreed with you, your representative or a commissioning authority.Legal obligation — to meet our duties as a provider registered with the Care Quality Commission, and our employment, safeguarding and health-and-safety obligations.Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, to administer recruitment, and to keep our services safe and well run. We balance this against your rights, and you may object at any time (see section 8).Consent — for optional marketing communications and for non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the care you receive.
Information about health, and information such as ethnicity or religious beliefs where it is relevant to providing culturally appropriate support, is "special category" data. Processing it requires an additional condition under Article 9 of the UK GDPR.We rely on Article 9(2)(h) — processing necessary for the provision of health or social care and the management of care systems — together with the corresponding condition in Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we process this information for safeguarding purposes, we rely on the substantial public interest condition for safeguarding children and individuals at risk.Criminal offence information obtained through DBS checks is processed only where the law permits, for the purpose of safer recruitment.
We use your information to respond to enquiries and referrals, to assess support needs, to plan and deliver care, to keep accurate records as our regulator requires, to employ and train our teams, and to investigate concerns, incidents and complaints.You have a right at any time to ask us to stop contacting you for marketing purposes, by emailing [email protected]. This will never affect the care or support you receive.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary, with: the local authority or NHS body commissioning your care; health and social care professionals involved in your support; the Care Quality Commission and safeguarding authorities where we are required or permitted to do so; and our service providers (for example IT and email hosting), who act on our instructions.Where a provider stores information outside the United Kingdom, we ensure an appropriate safeguard recognised by UK data protection law is in place.
Like most websites, ignitenursing.com records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the site secure and to understand how it is used.Ignite Nursing does not ordinarily link IP addresses to any of your personal information, which means that you remain anonymous even though the IP address is used to produce analytics information.

In general: adult social care records are kept for 8 years after care ends; staff records for 6 years after employment ends; unsuccessful job applications for 6 months; and safeguarding records for longer where the circumstances require it.When information is no longer needed it is securely deleted or anonymised.
