How we keep the people we support safe, how concerns are raised and acted on, and how staff can speak up without fear if something isn't right.
Our safeguarding policy
Every team member is enhanced-DBS checked before they start, and trained to recognise, report and act on signs of abuse or neglect. Safeguarding training is refreshed regularly, not a one-off induction module. We work openly with families, local authorities and safeguarding boards at all times, not only when something has gone wrong.
Reporting a concern
Anyone can raise a safeguarding concern at any time: a person we support, a family member, a professional, or a member of our own team. Concerns are taken seriously, recorded, and acted on promptly, with the person raising it kept informed of what happens next.
Whistleblowing
Staff can raise a concern about poor practice, unsafe care, or wrongdoing without fear of blame. Concerns can be raised confidentially, and where appropriate, anonymously. No one is penalised or treated unfairly for raising a concern in good faith, even if it later turns out to be mistaken.
CQC & regulatory oversight
Regulated by the Care Quality Commission where applicable to our registered services, with transparent incident reporting and clear routes for anyone to raise a concern or complaint directly with us or with the regulator.
Recognising concerns
If something doesn't feel right, we take it seriously. Our teams are expected to remain alert to signs of:
Abuse
Neglect
Exploitation
Unsafe practice
Changes in behaviour or wellbeing
Concerns raised by the person, family or professionals
Concerns are recorded and escalated through the appropriate processes.
For commissioners and referrers.
If you're a social worker, care coordinator, or commissioner looking to place someone with complex needs, we make referrals straightforward.
